our journey in creating positive change through ABA is taking a step forward as we announce our expansion to raleigh-durham.

Social skills are the skills we use to communicate and interact with others. They include spoken words, body language, gestures, eye contact, body movement, and more. Learning those skills helps us to better engage with family members, friends, and the community.

However, for some people with ASD, it can be hard to pick up on social cues. We use compassionate, contemporary ABA therapy to help your child build skills and confidence in social settings.

the inability to Interpret social cues, understand other people’s intentions, and process when and how to respond and interact with others often leave the neurodiverse ‘socially blind.’

The first goal of social skills training is to present  opportunities in social interaction with peers. This will set the tone for how well they succeed in school, work, community, and other social settings that they will encounter.

When social skills intervention occurs early on, a child can build confidence at a much earlier age by learning how to make friends and get along with others. Getting along with others is a springboard for learning other valuable skills like sharing, taking turns, imaginary play, sportsmanship, and just as importantly, developing in the are of problem-solving and developing their ability to just say no.

Our Social Skills Program is designed to develop the ability to set healthy boundaries and promote positive relationships

Our team of highly-trained BCBAs and RBTs breaks down specific skills and goals, ranging from taking turns to understanding tone of voice. Training is structured and simplified into specific actions that are easy to understand. We make goals measurable and attainable and can expand on skills as your child masters them. Each step will build and improve your child’s self-esteem.

Like other programs we cover, each treatment plan is unique. Social skills training looks different depending on the age of your child and their unique needs.

Our activities include games and role playing that can teach kids how to share toys, how to join others in playing, and how to take turns. These activities help kids learn to observe and practice common daily social interactions.

We use evidence-based methods to help children better understand social interactions. outcome..

"I've seen Social Skills Programs popping up in ABA and though I knew that it was something that my son needed, I wasn't sold. I thought that it would be full of scenarios which is even draining for adults. But THIS was a pleasant surprise. My son absolutely loves it!".
